Founded in 2004, Alpenglow Expeditions is more than a mountain guiding company. Alpenglow believes the power of the mountains creates positive change in the world through life-changing experiences. From inventing the Rapid Ascent Program to guiding the Seven Summits to establishing a new via ferrata in the Sierras, Alpenglow is among the most innovative mountain guide services in the world.

The Challenge.

Alpenglow Expeditions came to us with big aspirations to reposition their brand to better tell their story and communicate brand differentiators so they could capitalize on market opportunities and accelerate growth.

The Approach.

As Alpenglow’s agency of record, Bonfire brought depth to the Alpenglow brand, its positioning, and its messaging. We collaboratively developed a robust brand identity so that the Alpenglow mission, vision, and values could be embraced internally and expressed externally. We then poured gas on the fire with omnichannel marketing efforts.

  • A uniquely repositioned brand tapping into the heart and soul of the Alpenglow brand
  • A robust thought-leadership strategy designed to inspire the industry and raise the impact of Alpenglow’s sustainability and business ethics practices
  • In less than a year — and in the absence of any dedicated in-house marketing support — web sessions and revenues grew 61% and 20% respectively
  • Winter 22/23 local programs saw increases of more than 30% gross revenue and a 13.2% increase in total clients year over year

Rocky Talkie makes outdoor radios that are changing the game for safety in the backcountry. They believe in giving adventurers the confidence to push their limits through improved communication. Developed by a small team based in Colorado, these radios are built for adventurers by adventurers.

The Challenge.

Rocky Talkie came to us as a start-up looking to establish a legitimate foothold in an already saturated industry. With well-known brands leading this market, making noise in this space was going to be difficult.

The Approach.

Rocky Talkie needed to build a core audience in a niche market, and we helped do just that. Focusing on becoming the best known communication device for rock climbers and skiers going into the backcountry, we created and deployed campaigns targeting these audiences to establish brand awareness and drive results.

The Result.

  • As agency of record for three years, we guided brand, content, and paid media efforts to help take Rocky Talkie from start-up to established player
  • In Q4 2022, we strategically expanded paid media campaigns, resulting in +69% Revenue and +23% ROAS while decreasing Cost Per Purchase by 6%
  • We built a robust reporting dashboard for real-time data and insights 
  • We tested and expanded marketing efforts to establish Rocky Talkie in other niche markets such as overlanding and mountain biking
